About
Dr Sanyal's work in mental health has grown from a simple belief: people need a safe space where they can be heard without judgement.
Over nearly two decades, he has worked with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, emotional difficulties, relationships (Including pre-marital and marital counseling), grief, trauma and periods of personal uncertainty. Each person brings a different story, and he believes therapy works best when that story is understood rather than placed into a fixed formula.
His approach is practical, collaborative and grounded in understanding the connection between our thoughts, emotions and behaviour. He draws from different therapeutic approaches depending on what may be most helpful for the individual.
Alongside his clinical practice, He is passionately involved in mental wellness education, conducting talks and workshops for schools, colleges and organisations. Through Mind Factory, his aim is to make conversations around mental health more open, practical and easier to understand.
Therapy is a collaborative process
He believes therapy should not follow a fixed formula.
Every person brings a different history, personality, relationships and way of making sense of the world. His role is to understand that individual experience and work collaboratively towards meaningful change. This is done without giving advise, rather to help the client to gain awareness and explore possible options.
Sometimes that means looking at the thoughts that shape how we feel. Sometimes it means becoming more aware of patterns that play out in relationships. At other times, it means making sense of experiences that have stayed unresolved for a long time.
The approach may change. The person remains at the centre.
Who He Work's With
You don't need to have everything figured out before seeking therapy.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a specific problem. Sometimes there is simply a feeling that something isn't quite working. Therapy can help create the space to understand what is happening and what you want to change.
